Nintendo's 1981 title Donkey Kong is a single-screen action platforming game. Players assume the role of Mario in his first appearance, climbing girders to save Pauline from the "stubborn ape" Donkey Kong. The game features four unique level layouts, which increase in difficulty as they're revisited.
